Since opening for previews in April and opening for sales a week ago, Trapp+Holbrook has generated some serious buzz among real estate professionals, homeowners, and media. From Twitter users to trade publications, people can’t seem to stop talking about our first condo project in New West.

The project’s convenient location — just 1.5 blocks away from two Skytrain stations! — is a big plus for homeowners. Personal real estate consultant Adam Goss notes this in his blog post about Trapp+Holbrook:

Walking out the front door of your home at Trapp and Holbrook you’ll have just a short walk to Skytrain in either direction. Which station you choose may come down to whether you’re a Starbucks or Waves type, as either station is essentially equal distance from your doorstep.

Trapp+Holbrook’s proximity to Skytrain and to many amenities makes it a very walkable neighbourhood, a fact noted by Vancouver Condo Info:

If you want a healthy lifestyle then it’s time to ditch your ride and come to New Westminster. Walk to the local café, grocery store and hair salon. You don’t need to worry about parking space, meters and fines.

It’s not just about transit though. The Trapp+Holbrook neighbourhood offers great amenities and services — and people are taking notice.  New Condo Guide notes that Trapp+Holbrook is just a block from the Westminster Pier Park, easy walking distance to Douglas College, and minutes away from the new River Market, home to Wild Rice and award-winning restaurant Re-Up BBQ.

During her recent visit to New Westminster, Miss604.com’s Rebecca Bollwitt also noticed the revitalized neighbourhood, mentioning the new movie theatre and the new waterfront Westminster Pier Park.

New West is quietly vying to become Metro Vancouver’s next hot restaurant neighbourhood (The Tyee calls the city Vancouver’s Brooklyn), and foodies like Diana Chan of Foodology are keeping a close eye on the city’s culinary scene. We think that the vibrant neighbourhood of downtown New West makes Trapp+Holbrook an attractive investment for homeowners.

With affordability top of mind for many homebuyers, the media is also buzzing about Trapp+Holbrook’s affordable homes. In a recent feature about the revitalization of New West, Georgia Straight writes:

The new Trapp + Holbrook project will include the old structure’s impressive Edwardian façade along with relatively affordable prices—homes start at $219,000, and 100 residences in the building will cost below $300,000.

Mortgage Specialist Irene Strong echoes this sentiment and says that Trapp+Holbrook might be perfect for first-time homebuyers:

These units do provide a great start for first-time home buyers who may not have much furniture, would enjoy an affordable unit with panoramic views, want a new and modern space with the conveniences of front door access to local transit and shops…. With the official Grand Opening today and the low listed prices, these units might not last!

While delivering affordable homes, the project doesn’t compromise in its features. Susan M. Boyce of New Condo Guide notes the project’s sophistication. She says that the Salient Group’s attention to detail is “delightful”. Talking about the homes’ ensuite, Boyce says:

Elegant in a grey-on-white colour scheme, this room has the luxury I aspire to for my own home. Uncluttered minimalist lines are counterbalanced with the rich, dramatic textures of quartzite.

The Vancouver Sun also notes the project’s thoughtful design. “Trapp + Holbrook residences were thoughtfully planned and designed to maximize usability of living and storage spaces,” writes Vancouver Sun’s Barbara Gunn.

Ana, who recently bought a home in Trapp+Holbrook, tweeted about her excitement about the panoramic views that she will enjoy after moving in.

Finally, the unique mix of heritage vibe and modern living has piqued media’s interest. More from New Condo Guide:

Accented by terra cotta brick and arched, over-height windows, the Holbrook suites located on the third through seventh floors will also be home to innovative loft-style suites where ceilings will soar as much as 11 ft. high.

We invite you to see for yourself what people are talking about.  Visit the Trapp+Holbrook presentation centre at 668 Columbia Street in New Westminster. We are open from 12PM to 7PM, Monday to Thursday, and 12PM to 5PM Saturday to Sunday.
