Constructed in 1909, 840 Fort Street was a mainstay commercial building for almost a century. For 35-years this building was home to Sawyer Sewing Machines, a landmark family business that provided the building with its title the “Sawyer Block” and is still in operation today on Douglas Street.
Vacant since 2005, The Sawyer Block is being revitalized and the handsome façade is being restored. From its historic base, a new 6-storey rental building will be constructed with 60-new urban studios and junior 1-bedroom homes. Designed by Number 10 Architects with interiors by Portico Design Group, The Sawyer Block has been thoughtfully conceived for compact living.
The Sawyer Block will be ready for occupancy in Fall 2019. If you're interested in renting a Sawyer Block home, please register below to leave some contact details so we can keep you updated. Remember to check back regularly for progress updates!
